W Trek: Patagonia’s granite, glaciers, and weather that tests your waterproof
The W Trek is Torres del Paine’s signature walk: 4–5 days tracing a W-shaped route past glaciers, turquoise lakes, and the iconic granite towers. Refugios or camping, depending on your tolerance for wind and shared bathrooms.
The W Trek
4–5 days
Three arms, three landscapes. Grey Glacier (western arm): ice calving into gray water. French Valley (middle arm): an amphitheater of granite. Las Torres (eastern arm): the sunrise. The one you’ve seen in every photo. It’s better in person.
Best for:
Fit walkers, adventure couples, photographers, dedicated hikers
Planner’s edge:
November–March only. Refugios book out 6+ months ahead. We secure the beds and pair the W Trek with wider Patagonia — Perito Moreno, El Chaltén, or a Punta Arenas extension.
